Multi-Channel LED Illuminators

Inspired by customers and now available for everybody in variety of options. They consist of our SCI-One illuminators modules combined with Thorlabs components and suitably selected filter set. Because the multi-channel illuminators are built with off-the-shelf mechanics and optics they can be assemble very quickly whether you need them as prototype or ready-to-use product.

Let us introduce main features of DLC and TLC – Dual and Triple LED Combiners:

  • Two (DLC) or Three (TLC) SCI –One illuminator modules of chosen color/wavelength
    combined with dichroic mirror (or beam splitter depending on application)
  • Optional filter mounts (excitation bandpass/shortpass/longpass filters or neutral density)
  • Applicable in fluorescence/phosphorescence imaging
  • Köhler illumination optics for high efficiency and uniformity
  • Adaptable to various microscopes with XYZ adjustment to center and focus the source
    image on the objective lens back aperture (Inherited features of SCI-One)
  • Power connectors included
  • SM1 (1.035″-40) thread mounting (adapters available)

DLC - Dual LED Combiner

In the figure above one example of installed configuration is presented. This DLC features:

  • LED (6500K, max 1A) and NUV LED (365nm, max 0.7A) combined with dichroic mirror for high efficiency
  • Used for phosphorescence inspection
  • Bandpass filter preinstalled in NUV channel and ND filter in the white one
  • Spaced with 2” tube for mechanical integration with third-party microscope requirements
  • Supplied with UV blocking filter for the camera channel

TLC - Triple LED Combiner

This is also one of TLC inquired configurations that features:

  • UV LED (390nm, 1A), Blue LED (470nm) and Green LED (530nm)
  • Application: fluorescence imaging
  • Removable filter mounts
  • designed to be integrated with Thorlabs based microscope setup (like presented in the picture below)

In this figure one can see TLC integrated with microscope setup consisting of Thorlabs components (filter cage and RMS turret) and our IN2-0.5x imaging lens; camera port with c-mount; works in upright and inverted configuration.
